BIPOC Women can change the landscape of equity, inclusion, and career growth.

Women are already significantly underrepresented in leadership. Fewer women have risen through the ranks for many reasons, but mostly because of a lack of diversity and inclusion from a level playing field.  Now, companies are struggling to hold onto the relatively few women leaders they have. This poses a new opportunity for women of color. The reasons women leaders are stepping away from their companies are telling. Women leaders are just as ambitious as men, but they face different challenges at many companies, making it harder to advance.

At BIPOC Women Executives, we aim to provide resources and support in which we hope will result in a more empowered community of color.

Regular community-wide read-alongs of selected books, encouraging BIPOC women to read and discuss the same book together, fostering a sense of community and shared experience.

Occasional book swap events where members can exchange books they have read and loved, introducing each other to new authors and perspectives within the BIPOC literary community.

Networking

Fewer than half of the manager-level employees serve as sponsors, and only 1 in 3 employees say they have a sponsor.  Moreover, less than a third of employees get the sponsorship needed to advance their careers. BIPOC-WE hopes to change that.
